I : my character, my choice (part 3)

Lets discuss letter "L"

Lowly
This term has been defined to mean different things. "Low in status or importance; humble; modest; low; unassuming; meek. Not forgetting the key word of this topic which is "SALT". This substance clearly depicts what lowliness is all about.

Let me ask some soul stirring questions, if your answers is more of yes, then check and check again. I would want you to put your name in the place where SALT is mentioned.
Does the Salt remain at the top of soup when prepared? Does Salt jump out of the soup simply because its hot? Does Salt tell all the other ingredient in the soup that without it, their taste wouldn't come out? Just as the Salt wouldn't do any of the above mentioned, so also a character that is beautiful.

You may be the reason your friend got that Job, or that promotion or even that Spouse. Let me put this to you, be thankful to God that he used you because without you he/she would still have gotten the job, promotion or even the Spouse. Have u taken note that its the Salt that does the underground work of making other ingredients noticed in the soup? A beautiful YOU would be concerned about beautifying others, other than been everywhere broadcasting yourself.

A character that is Lowly sometimes goes unnoticed but in the long run gets rewarded. Take a very good look at Moses, there is something about this man that keeps me wondering. The bible recorded it that he was meekest man that ever lived and God was not afraid to show himself to him. Hmmm, a great food for thought. "A meek or lowly man is pure and it is him that will see God."

There is so much to say about a man who is Lowly, but words cannot express the in-depth truth that lies in this five-lettered word.

Lord Jesus, there is this fleshly nature of mine that always wanna pop his head high, I bring my heart, spirit and soul under your authority asking that you create in me a lowly and humble spirit. Let the nature of Christ override the fleshly nature in me. Cause me to have a record of lowliness and humility before you oh Lord. When it gets to that point when all things go well around me and i become a blessing to others, help me remember that if it were not for you, i wouldn't be here.

Touch me on the inside and make me Beautiful. Amen

I : my character, my choice (part 2)

Lets discuss the letter A.

Acceptable of Appalling
When something is acceptable you find it everywhere. Even in our everyday life, we go to shops and we see posts like "Verve, Visa card accepted". That's to inform you that you could pay for the services rendered to you with your credit card. Coming down to the definition of our character, the A in the word SALT tells if we choose to be acceptable or appalling.

Salt is universal, it does not exist only in Nigeria. It is acceptable everywhere and by everyone. There are some people who are told to eat without salt due to one health reason or the other. They can tell u how it taste. Have u ever prepared soup and you forgot to add some salt, how does it taste? It is not acceptable to the mouth, so also is a character that has no salt, it is appalling.

For every where that Jesus entered, he was accepted and things changed for good. When he was at the marriage in Cana of Galilee, water became wine and the master of the ceremony said "usually the good wine is given at first, but instead the good wine was preserved till the end". This is applicable with us, a place can be so hot as a result of an argument or misunderstanding and immediately we step into the matter, everyone leaves happy and settled. This is attributed to an acceptable character. It lives on the inside and overflows to the outside.

I say often, we cannot hide smoke, a little or minute escape route is all it needs to let out itself. So also is character, no matter how long a period of time, you suppress or try to hide an appalling character, it still shows forth. Our inside unknowingly and unconsciously is displayed in full force on the outside. You can not be beautiful inside and be ugly on the outside, not at all. Even if you are the most ugly person that lives on earth, when your inside is beautiful, your ugly looks would never be noticed because you would be accepted everywhere you find your self.

I hear people say, "she is so beautiful in her looks yet she is very ugly". The truth of the matter is that you cannot be beautiful inside and be ugly outside. I pray that God gives us the grace to truly be beautiful deep within and every traces of an appalling behavior will be erased totally from our lives in Jesus Name. Amen.
We will be an epitome of true believers and young Christ wherever we find ourselves. God bless you all and Remain in God's love.

I: my character, my choice (part 1)

A lot has been happening around me recently, people putting up attitudes, some appealing and some appalling.
Taking our theme verse to heart, we would be looking at how much of our choice our character is. In as much as we know we are here to discover how to be BEAUTIFUL INSIDE out, we shouldn't be naive to the fact that there are some things we should guard against.
Using the acronym of the word SALT, lets discuss the letter S.

Sweet or Sour
When something is sweet, everyone craves for it. A quick one: put a little quantity of sugar on the floor and you would find ants around it, or anything that has sugary content in it. This applies also in our everyday life. No one, when he is approached by a beautiful girl or a handsome boy with a handshake turns it down except there are other things we onlookers don't know. We love to hang around beautiful people, but the moment we discover they have a sour character, no one tells us, we just know when to draw the Line.
You may have all the qualifications in the world, the best  of cars, houses and what have you. Beloved, if your character is sour, you would stink to everyone around you. Sooner than later, you would find out you are all alone to yourself. I used to be very blunt without looking at who you are, but i discovered some people do not survive the blunt actions. I decided within me, i would lovingly rebuke people and still be truthful to them. At that point, i gain their heart and their trust and most of all their confidence. I am not saying to be blunt is bad, but if you have known me, you would understand me better. Drawing the line has nothing to do with being blunt, know when to draw the line, when to say yes and no as well. I didn't just change all of a sudden, it is the God who live inside of me that has been helping me and He is still helping me.

To be sweet is not what you would just wake up and be all over the place, it is from within. As the Bible puts it clearly to us ...have salt in yourselves... I say as well "be sweet in yourself, you would be sweet to everyone".

You could say this prayer with me:
"Lord Jesus, when you lived among men, you were so sweet that everyone wanted a taste of you. As i live in this world, make me sweet just as you are so that the world would have a taste of you in me and would know that I am sweet because You are SWEET. Make me beautiful on the inside and make others life beautiful as well. I thank you Lord because you have heard my prayers. Amen".
