our body - GOD'S TEMPLE

one morning during my quiet time, i came across a deep revelation which i have never known before this fateful morning. reading through I Corinthians 3:1-17, i read and understood God's standard and injuction about our bodies.

i have actually read this passage not once, not twice but it was on this beautiful morning i would rather say i understood what verses 16&17 meant. i quote "do you not know that you are the temple of God and that the spirit of God dwells in you? if anyone defiles the temple of God, God will destroy him. for the temple of God is holy, which temple you are" (NKJV)

at creation God came to fellowship with man in the cool of the day in the garden of Eden, after man's fall, the coming of christ reconciled us back to the father, thereby making us have fellowship with God in our hearts, he lives in us and he wants to remain in us to always fellowship with us, that makes our bodies the temple of God....

"if anyone defiles the temple of God, God will destroy him" my eyes were widened to this blunt truth and outright punishment from God. after reading and meditating, i understood what is means when God said i am a JEALOUS God.

it is dangerous to defile the temple of God, worst if you are of the household of faith, you serve God, you work for him and you are busy defiling your bodies in secret. i know some of the menfolk read this articles, so i believe this divine punishment extends to all of human race. dont get carried away with lust and bring down God's punishment upon yourself.

i can imagine if God turns his back on a man, how miserable that man would be, not to take of God destroying you....if you defile the temple of God, destruction awaits such a one....God's command is clear on sexual immorality, he says it is a sin, a sin against your body for that matter. this is to all, no gender specifically.

dont think its to the younger ones only, it is to all, the singles, the unmarried and the married. honour God with your body. as Paul said to the Romans, i say to all from chapter 12:1 "i beseech you therefore brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service(which is your spiritual act of worship).

has anyone passed beside you and say to you, i see the glory of God in you? if yes, arent u glad you show forth God's glory? if you havent you too can show for God glory.

Honour the temple of God -----YOUR BODY.
